Terms and Conditions

As a member of the Oregon Brew Crew, you agree to all of the following:

• The OBC is a volunteer organization and relies on the active participation of its members. As set forth in the bylaws, I agree to volunteer for at least one club service activity per year.

• I agree to abide by the rules and regulations set forth in the OBC Club Bylaws (2018) as well as our club “Code of Conduct” below.

• I verify that I am of legal drinking age.

CODE OF CONDUCT

Be inclusive. We welcome and support people of all backgrounds and identities. This includes but is not limited to members of any sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, race, ethnicity, culture, national origin, social and economic class, educational level, color, immigration status, sex, age, size, family status, political belief, religion, and mental and physical ability.

Be considerate. We depend on each other to give our members a quality experience that encourages them to remain active members. Your decisions may affect members and guests, and you should take time to think about how your actions will impact others when making decisions.

Be respectful. We will not all agree all the time, but disagreement is no excuse for disrespectful behavior. We will all experience frustration from time to time, but we cannot allow that frustration to become personal attacks. An environment where people feel uncomfortable or threatened is not a safe and welcoming one.

Choose your words carefully. Harassment and exclusionary behavior is not acceptable. This includes, but is not limited to: threats of violence, discriminatory jokes, and language, sharing sexually explicit or violent material, personal insults (including racist or sexist terms), unwelcome sexual attention, and advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behavior.

Do not harass others. In general, if someone asks you to stop something, then stop. When we disagree, try to understand why. Differences of opinion and disagreements are unavoidable. What is important is that we resolve disagreements and differing views constructively.

Work to solve problems. We can find strength in diversity. Different people have different perspectives on issues, and that can be valuable for solving problems or generating new ideas. Being unable to understand why someone holds a viewpoint doesn’t mean that they’re wrong. Don’t forget that we all make mistakes and blaming each other doesn’t get us anywhere. Instead, focus on resolving problems and learning from mistakes. 

WAIVER RELEASE & INDEMNIFICATION

In consideration of the acceptance of my membership or participation in events with the Oregon Brew Crew:

• I waive all claims that I may have against the Oregon Brew Crew, its officers and directors (collectively the “organizers”), members, volunteers, or sponsors, and release them from all claims for death, injury or damage arising out of my participation in their club, their event and its related activities, together with any costs, including legal fees.

• I agree to indemnify, and keep indemnified, the organizers against damage arising out of my participation in the events and its related activities.

• I agree to comply with all the rules, regulations and instructions of the organizers.

• In the event of injury or illness during participation, I consent to receive medical treatment, which may be deemed advisable by the organizers.

• I acknowledge that I have sole responsibility for my personal possessions and equipment during all the events and activities.

• I hereby permit the free use of my name and picture in any published content or press, online or offline, as they pertain to the Oregon Brew Crew their events and activities.

• I understand that my membership fee is non-transferable and not refundable.

• I agree to have my personal details recorded and used by the Oregon Brew Crew and related parties for further communications of future related events.
